Terms of Service

Last updated

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the TryDocify API and website (the "Service"), operated by TryDocify, Pristina, Kosovo ("TryDocify", "we", "us"). By creating an API key, subscribing to a plan or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and "you" refers to that organization.

2. The service

TryDocify provides an HTTP API that renders PDF documents from JSON descriptions you send, together with related endpoints for usage, key management and billing, and documentation. Each successful, non-test render uses one credit from your plan.

3. Business use only

The Service is intended for businesses and developers acting in a trade, business or professional capacity, not for consumers. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use it.

4. API keys and accounts

  • Your API key identifies your account. It is shown once when it is created; we store only a one-way hash and cannot show it again.
  • Keep your key secret and use it only from server-side code. You are responsible for all use of the Service made with your key. If you believe it has leaked, rotate it immediately (POST /api/v1/keys/rotate) or contact us.
  • Provide an accurate email address at checkout. We use it to identify your account and contact you about it.

5. Plans, payment and Paddle

  • Plans are monthly subscriptions with a fixed number of credits per billing period (Starter: 1,000 PDFs for $9; Pro: 10,000 PDFs for $29). Unused credits do not roll over to the next period.
  • Refunds are available as described in our Refund Policy: a full refund on request within 14 days of any payment.
  • Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms. Prices exclude applicable taxes, which Paddle calculates and collects at checkout.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can change plans or cancel at any time from the billing portal; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and your key keeps working until then.
  • If a renewal payment fails, your key may stop generating documents until the payment succeeds.
  • We may change prices for future billing periods. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before a price increase takes effect for your subscription.

6. Test mode

Requests with "test": true produce watermarked PDFs that do not use credits, up to a daily limit per key. Test output is for development and evaluation only. You may not remove or obscure the watermark or use test output in production.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • create documents that are unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive, such as forged invoices, certificates or identity documents;
  • infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of anyone;
  • distribute malware or content that exploits, harasses or harms others;
  • share your API key publicly, resell raw access to the API as a standalone service, or circumvent credits, rate limits, test-mode limits or other technical restrictions;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or send traffic designed to overload it.

You may build TryDocify into your own products and generate documents for your own customers. Report security issues to [email protected].

8. Your content

You keep all rights to the data you send and the PDFs the Service generates ("Your Content"). You grant us only the limited permission needed to process Your Content to provide the Service. We render documents in memory and do not store Your Content after the response is sent, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights and any legal basis needed to send it to us, including for personal data about others contained in your documents. Where Your Content includes personal data, we process it on your behalf and only to render the document you requested.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service fast and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation and do not offer a service-level agreement unless agreed in writing. We may carry out maintenance, and we may improve or change the Service. We will give reasonable advance notice by email or in the documentation of changes that break existing integrations of the v1 API.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, documentation, design and the TryDocify name, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to it other than the right to use the Service as described here. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or revoke an API key, or terminate your access, if you materially breach these Terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we will notify you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Sections 8 and 10 to 15 survive termination.

12. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You are responsible for checking that generated documents are correct and suitable for your purpose, including any legal, tax or accounting requirements that apply to them.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or gross negligence.

14. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content or from your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or applicable law.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kosovo. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Pristina, Kosovo, unless mandatory law where you are established provides otherwise. Before starting proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you by email or on this page at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
